Forbidden: The Claim by Samantha Sommersby

I first heard about Samantha Sommersby's Forbidden series about a month ago, and knew it was a series I had to read. I was completely elated when I was asked to review the Forbidden books. There's nothing better than getting to review a book you have been dying to read! Actually, there is one thing better- when you review the book and LOVE it as much as I did Forbidden: The Claim!

Paranormal/ Erotic Romance

Byron Renfield lives a solitary existence on his private island. He is satisfied with being mostly alone; he has money, good looks and an important position within his vampire Clan that he has worked years to achieve. But when Violet Deeds shows up at his doorstep and has no way off the island for a few days, she turns his world upside-down. To Byron, Violet is temptation incarnate, and to give in to temptation would be to break the law of his Clan. Vampires are forbidden to mate with humans, and for good reason to those that have never been in love with a human. But every minute Byron and Violet spend together creates an even more intense attraction that neither wants to deny. Can Byron resist the siren song that is Violet Deeds? Or will he give in and find his world crashing down around him?

Forbidden: The Claim is a commanding story of intense attraction, illicit love, and doing whatever it takes for the one you cherish. Samantha Sommersby has created a fresh and intriguing version of the vampire legend that will have you fantasizing about all the possibilities of this new kind of vampire. The story is written from the hero’s point of view, and the author does a wonderful job making it completely realistic. Usually when a story is written in first person, you identify with that character. While you do identify with Byron, you also find yourself falling for him as he tells his story as it happens. You feel the emotions he feels, his attraction, his fear, his frustration, and finally, his resolve. Samantha Sommersby has created some stand-out characters, and a hero you pull for throughout the entire story. The last page is not the end of Byron and Violet’s story, and you won’t be able to rest until you read the second book in the Forbidden series. Put Samantha Sommersby on your “to be read” list, she does vampires like no one else!

Official Blurb:

Byron Renfield has spent years climbing the social ladder, and is now successful, handsome, independently wealthy...and a vampire. For over two centuries, he's held the honored position of Treasurer of his Clan's most sacred Trust. He's also been responsible for the financial security of the most elite of the immortals, the Dominie.

In order to ensure his redemption, Byron isolated himself on a small private island, away from all temptation. It was a good plan.until the day Violet Deeds was stranded there.

Violet is beautiful, sexy, outspoken, and a human, which makes her completely off limits. His society's canon may forbid relationships between vampires and humans, but will that be enough to help Byron and Violet conquer the intensity of their attraction to one another? Or will Byron succumb and take a little nibble?

This is a fresh new twist on the classic vampire tale of seduction. Extremely erotic, Forbidden: The Claim has a hero that you'll want to spend eternity with and a heroine you'll envy. It's the first in what is surely going to be a fabulously successful series for Samantha Sommersby.
