Go Between by Dayna Hart

When I saw the blurb for Go Between, I thought it would be a fun book- and it definitely didn't disappoint! I really liked it and I think the series has great potential. Go Between is actually more of a prologue to the Curtain Torn series, which I think is just going to get better and better. And Go Between was really good so I can't wait to see where it goes! This is not an erotic story and except for the reference to alcohol at the beginning (the drinker IS of legal age BTW), I really think this would be a GREAT book for teens as well as adults of all ages.

Claire is having a rotten birthday. Here she sits, 25 years old, in the middle of a divorce, and getting drunk, alone, in the of her living room floor. She eyes the gaudily wrapped birthday gift from her sister with distaste, but decides to open it as she knows her sister will bombard her with questions about it later. But after unwrapping the gift, she is amused to find a pressed fairy book, much like the one they looked at when they were kids. Only this book is different: one of the fairies appears to be moving and asking for her to help in releasing him. At first she thinks she’s hallucinating, until she sees his hands pressing through the page, encased in what looks like plastic. After deciding to humor her “hallucination”, she is able to break the “plastic” and free the fairy, a very good-looking fairy at that, who introduces himself as Dell of the Dale. But before Claire has a chance to wrap her head around the fact that there’s a real fairy in her living room, goblins attack the house. She and Dale have no choice but to escape through a rift between their worlds into his, and appeal for help from the Elven Queen. Claire has no idea why she has suddenly become involved in a world she never even knew existed, but she’s about to get more involved than she could ever imagine!

Go Between: Book 1 of The Curtain Torn series is a magical, fun-filled journey that will take you right along with the heroine into the land of Fae. Dayna Hart created a plot that not only was entertaining and original, but that was also intelligent. She did a phenomenal job explaining the torn curtain to her readers, and I loved the scenes that illustrated how important communication is between different cultures- and in this case, species. But just because the book was smart, doesn’t mean that it wasn’t quirky and fun too! The plot was very exciting and fast-moving, all of the characters were great, and the author’s writing was very smooth and flowed right along. Claire was a thoughtful, caring heroine and Dell was one hot fairy! I look forward to seeing their relationship develop further in the series. Since the book does not contain any sensuality and only mild violence, it can be enjoyed by even more sensitive readers. Go Between is a great beginning of a delightful series you definitely won’t want to miss.
